I Love This Man!

NINE years ago today, I married the greatest man alive. He is my best friend!!! We met while we were at a missions school in Colorado. We have had a typical marriage with many ups and downs but despite it all we have remained close to the Lord and He is the ONLY thing that has held our family together. Marc is the funniest man alive. He makes me laugh until I hurt. I wish people could be a fly on our walls sometimes. We don’t have a perfect marriage and we are still learning so many things about each other but I am so thankful that the Lord allowed me to meet such a wonderful man. He is faithful, hardworking, loving, and talented. He rarely complains (unless he is totally out of underwear or something-I will never win a gold star for laundry), he loves to be with our children, he has a passion for the things of the Lord and leads our family to follow Him, he is a gift to me and to all who meet him. I will forever love you and can’t wait to go to ITALY next year for our 10th Anniversary. Hee Hee…..I keep throwing that gift idea around whenever I can. I thought this post was as good a time as any. I may be a photographer but we don’t have ANY “real” pics together so this is the best I had. I know, I know…we will get some one day!!!

Windmills News Flash

So…blogging for us is clearly one of our BIGGEST weaknesses. Since we haven’t posted anything since spring, I thought I would give you a Windmills News Flash to catch you up on all that we have been doing. It has been quite a busy summer.

*All 7 kids have been at home with us EVERY day ALL day since school got out. (enough said for the lack of posts)

*I (Brooke) am expecting our third child! My hubby and I are really excited to be adding a boy to our mix. We have WAY too many girl emotions running around our house right now so the change will be fun. I am convinced that my hubby is trying to figure out a way to get a football in my tummy so that by the time Maddox comes out he will be able to throw for 700 yards and lead his team (The Broncos-of course) all the way to the Super Bowl. Maddox Maddox he’s our man, if he can’t do it nobody can!!! Oops, the inner cheerleader in me came out.

*Amy has been busy picking up my slack due to morning sickness and hormones, (what in the world would I do without you???) going to the beach with the family, running a drama camp at school with her super talented hubby, planting yummy veggies in the garden at her grandparents farm, (I have yet to get the first tomato. Does she not know that holding food from a preggo woman is a huge No-No), running VBS at her church, and the list goes on and on. I don’t know how she does it all, but I am starting to think that she has a wonder woman suit under her clothes. That is the only way she could do all that she does. I am hoping one day she will let me in on her secret.

*One night while I was on the phone with a client my sweet little Ava came screaming down the hall holding her arm. While trying to calm her down, I realized that her arm was bent in half and her bones were all but sticking out of her skin. I am not even sure what I said to the lady on the phone but I am sure it had nothing to do with packages or session styles. We rushed her to the ER and she had broken both of the bones in her arm and would now be in a cast for 8 weeks. So long summer!!! Getting everyone to the pool in one piece takes a miracle normally so add having to cover a 3 year olds cast in a bag without cutting the circulation off of her arm and one really doesn’t want to go swimming so much anymore. She will finally get her cast off on Aug. 5th and we are leaving for the beach the next day. I am about to die to get in the sun.

*We have been so blessed by all of the work we have had this summer. We have had some great shoots with some great families and are so excited about the rest of the year. We have so many things planned and can’t wait to share some of our ideas with you. Once these wonderful but crazy kids all get back in school and we begin to feel like normal women who have brains again then you better hold on to your hats because we are ready to conquer the world. For now, I will leave you with a picture of my 4 month preggo belly.

Pina’ Coladas and Paradise

I don’t know if you are aware of this or not but I have the GREATEST hubby in the world. He is kind, loving, funny, and really good lookin’ but one of my favorite things about him is that he likes to travel just as much as I do. (That is almost impossible considering I wouldn’t even own a house if I didn’t have children. I would just own an RV so that I could be gone 365 days a year) Anyway, I have been hinting for a while that I REALLY wanted to go on another cruise this year and the sweet guy booked one and gave it to me for Valentines. He is a keeper!!! So, on March 8th, we packed up the car and headed to Miami with one of our favorite couples and left Sunday for the islands aboard the Norwegian Pearl. We sailed for 7 nights and 8 days and along the way stopped in Roatan, Honduras, Belize City, Belize, Cozumel, Mexico, and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. Marc and I met while we were missionaries and I am suddenly feeling the Lord calling us back to be missionaries in the Caribbean. *Wink Wink* My favorite stop along the way was Belize (which I have always wanted to go to since I was a teenager and it did not dissapoint) We took a boat ride from Belize City over to San Pedro, Belize and that little Island stole my heart. (I really thought I was going to die on the boat ride over-that was an experience-Sweet Lord Jesus!!!) Once we arrived, Maria and I went into coma’s on the lounge chairs while the boys went snorkeling with Jose’ (their tour guide sorta) in Shark Ray Alley. You should have seen their faces while they were telling us all about swimming with the sharks. That was priceless. The people of San Pedro don’t drive cars because the island is so small. They all drive around on golf carts. We watched a mom pull up to the school there and drop her little girl off on a GOLF CART…..now that is living ladies and gentlemen!!! The rest of our stops were wonderful but if I ever go missing, try San Pedro. I’ll be the lady in the pink golf cart with a pina’ colada in my hand. (Virgin of course).

Sailing Away

This girl makes me laugh so hard…..we could get into some trouble.

San Pedro, Belize

I took this for Amy……I think this may be a sign….*Wink Wink*

How much prettier can something get. This place was AMAZING!!!

I’m pretty sure he was a permanent raisin the whole trip…..you could not get them out of the water.

Ahhhh……the sharks they were so thrilled with.

This is where you can find me if I go missing.

I caught these little boys writting on this wall before school.

Do I even need to say anything….go ahead, pick your chin up off of the floor.

Cozumel, Mexico

He will kill me for this but I think he looks so cute.

I love this photo so much…it makes me think of Mexico way back in the day.

This ones a little blurry but i still liked it. We were eating lunch in a TIKI HUT. Someone pinch me!!!

This was taken through a window from a restaurant on the ship. It was gorgeous.

Hailey the Cowgirl

Several months ago we rented the movie Flicka (it’s about a girl and her horse) for a Friday night family movie. Little did I know, that our oldest little girl Hailey would become absolutely obsessed with the four legged creature. Let me define obsession. She will invite our neighbors little boy over and tie a rope around him and make him run around the yard while she yells, “Whoa girl” all while wearing her red cowgirl hat. I must say, he is a really good sport. She gallops constantly through the house and also uses her daddy’s belts as the rope while sitting across the arm of the couch screaming, “Yee Haw.” Told ya she was in love. Well, for Christmas we decided to give her horse riding lessons and the cutie sat there and cried when she relized the treasure she held in her hand. It was quite the Christmas. Below is the Christmas morning surprise as well as her first lesson. She went last Saturday and has not quit talking about it since.

This is little sister, Ava. She was not very happy to find out she couldn’t ride. But she is beautiful anyway.

This made her happy enough.

It doesn’t get much cuter than this.

What a slacker!!!

What a slacker I have been during the month of December. For those of you that read our blog, I am truly sorry. I am so thankful for a new year and a fresh start. I don’t think I have ever been so busy in all of my life (don’t get me wrong, it is a good thing for sure) We have learned many valuable things this Christmas season and I am excited to learn from it and to grow and make our business even better. I can’t wait to show you some of the new things we have planned for 2009. It is going to be a great year with so many blessings. I am ready for all that is in store. For those of you who allowed us to share in your memories, THANK YOU!!! We value each of you and rely on you to spread the word about Windmills. We have not been dissapointed. I hope you can say the same and we look forward to capturing more memories for you and your family. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
