Welcome to our Blog!

Back in the day, before Windmills, we were just two friends in love with our cameras. The more we pursued our new hobby the more excited we became at the thought of our own business. Thus began the quest for a name. To make you laugh, here are some of the names that were in the running: (note, a few of these were submitted by our "oh, so funny" family) Red Door Photography (no, not the perfume), Back Porch Photography (named after the famous salad), Creative Photos (wow, that was creative), Picture This (what are we picturing exactly?), Photo-Baggins (yes, our husbands are Lord of the Rings fanatics), and the one name that we actually call ourselves is...(drumroll please) Two Chicks and a Click!!! We know, we know, so where did Windmills come from? Well, we are both crazy about all things antique, our southern heritage, home grown veggies, and the simplicity of country living and we think the Windmill symbolizes all of these things. So now you know! Our style is fun, laid back, and real! We want you to feel at home with us and un-wind with Windmills.

Beautiful Bundle of Joy

Welcome to the world little Olivia! Addie and Steve were beaming when I walked into the hospital room to meet their precious little girl. I fell in love with her lovely black hair and her round cheeks! I could not get over her little lips either! There is something so sacred about taking pictures for labor and delivery. I had the privilege of re-living all of the sweet moments I experienced with my own five babies. It reminded me of the shock and awe you feel giving life and seeing their sweet little face for the first time! There is nothing like it in all the world! We are so looking foward to photographing Olivia throughout her first year! Congratulations Steve and Addie! She is GORGEOUS!

Beautiful Mom to Be

This couple was so fun to shoot. It is always such a pleasure to work with people who are up for anything and want to have fun. It makes for some totally unique shots and lets our creativity fly. We had a blast. Most of these were taken at the farm where Amy grew up. She can remember her grandparents working in the garden, waiting for the bus with the cows, and all of the adventures she used to have on all of that land. There isn’t a time that we go there to shoot where she doesn’t leave teary eyed. This place holds a very special place in her heart which make these photos that much more beautiful to us both. This sweet mamma gave birth a couple weeks after this session and we are dying to get the labor and delivery pics up. This baby is GORGEOUS. Hope you enjoy.

Pina’ Coladas and Paradise

I don’t know if you are aware of this or not but I have the GREATEST hubby in the world. He is kind, loving, funny, and really good lookin’ but one of my favorite things about him is that he likes to travel just as much as I do. (That is almost impossible considering I wouldn’t even own a house if I didn’t have children. I would just own an RV so that I could be gone 365 days a year) Anyway, I have been hinting for a while that I REALLY wanted to go on another cruise this year and the sweet guy booked one and gave it to me for Valentines. He is a keeper!!! So, on March 8th, we packed up the car and headed to Miami with one of our favorite couples and left Sunday for the islands aboard the Norwegian Pearl. We sailed for 7 nights and 8 days and along the way stopped in Roatan, Honduras, Belize City, Belize, Cozumel, Mexico, and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. Marc and I met while we were missionaries and I am suddenly feeling the Lord calling us back to be missionaries in the Caribbean. *Wink Wink* My favorite stop along the way was Belize (which I have always wanted to go to since I was a teenager and it did not dissapoint) We took a boat ride from Belize City over to San Pedro, Belize and that little Island stole my heart. (I really thought I was going to die on the boat ride over-that was an experience-Sweet Lord Jesus!!!) Once we arrived, Maria and I went into coma’s on the lounge chairs while the boys went snorkeling with Jose’ (their tour guide sorta) in Shark Ray Alley. You should have seen their faces while they were telling us all about swimming with the sharks. That was priceless. The people of San Pedro don’t drive cars because the island is so small. They all drive around on golf carts. We watched a mom pull up to the school there and drop her little girl off on a GOLF CART…..now that is living ladies and gentlemen!!! The rest of our stops were wonderful but if I ever go missing, try San Pedro. I’ll be the lady in the pink golf cart with a pina’ colada in my hand. (Virgin of course).
